Alida Lamagna Kendell has been teaching numerous styles of dance for ages 3 to adult in the Hartford area since 2010. Her ballet background began at Connecticut Concert Ballet over 20 years ago, and her education has continued to expand to modern, jazz and contemporary styles over the years. Alida has had the honor of taking classes with the legendary Frank Hatchett and Master ballet teacher David Howard. She has also trained at the Burklyn Ballet Theater and Briansky Ballet summer intensives and attended the American College Dance Association two years in a row. She attended the University of Saint Joseph where she served as President of the Dance Ensemble until graduating in 2015 with her BA in psychology and dance. She has performed professionally with Sallix Productions, ATTAK Dance Company, Sonia Plumb Dance Company, Moxie Dance Company and the Civic Ballet of Connecticut. She currently performs with Connecticut based company Immix Dance Project. Alida’s choreography has been featured at the annual 5x5 Contemporary Dance Festival both as a student in 2014 and 2015 and as a professional in 2017. Alida has also had the honor of teaching at the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts (NADAA) Convention in 2018. Alida’s love for dance is evident in her passion for teaching and making dance accessible to as many people as possible.
