*** A note about Pointe work - Pointe work is not for everyone.  Pointe class does not replace regular soft slipper technique classes.  Pointe is an ADDITIONAL commitment.  Permanent negative effects to feet and joints will take place if the student has not developed the appropriate skills and strength needed.  For these reasons, Pointe work is allowed by invitation only.
Ballet - These classes are a wonderful introduction to the world of dance!  Ballet is an art form created during the Italian Renaissance in the fifteenth century. It was then  developed into a performance dance form in France and Russia. Ballet tells stories through not just dance, but also mime-work, scenic design, costuming, and musical composition.

Tap
is a class that focuses on rhythmic exercise enhancing children's memory, musical awareness, and coordination.

Jazz covers a wide variety of styles, including classic jazz, lyrical jazz, and street jazz. It evolved from musical theater and is applied to Broadway, Jazz, Pop and Rock music.  This class focuses on developing body strength and flexibility and mastering a variety of turns, leaps and jumps.

Lyrical combines the techniques of ballet and jazz.  Lyrical Dance is usually used to tell a story.  A variety of pop/rock music is used. Previous ballet and jazz training is recommended.

Contemporary is a mixture of modern, ballet, and jazz techniques. It is an athletic class utilizing a variety of turns, leaps, jumps, and acrobatic skills.

Hip Hop follows the latest dance trends.  Sometimes known as Street-Jazz, this class introduces basic break-dancing and pop/lock styles and uses the newest R&B/pop music.

Breakdance combines body conditioning and strength-building exercises with coordination drills and dance elements.

Acrobatics is a combination of dance techniques and gymnastic tumbling skills. Younger classes introduce basic tumbling skills to beginners and new skills to experienced acrobats. The design of the class is to work with children independently down the mat, progressing each child as appropriate. This class will creatively incorporate the necessary body conditioning, strength training and coordination building exercises needed to secure a firm foundation to build tumbling skills.
Older
classed are designed to work with children independently to progress and achieve goals. Perfect for recreational students, breakdancers and cheerleaders. All beginner and Intermediate students welcome.
